Ligustica Queen Bee Mated - Apis Mellifera Ligustica
Ligustica is the Italian honey bee and it is known for its gentleness, they are a pleasure to handle. The F1 queens are very prolific building up to big strong colonies early in the season. Ligustica are excellent honey gatherers and low users of propolis which are ideal characteristics for hobbyist and commercial beekeepers alike.
They have a good hygienic behaviour and their resistance to disease is very good along with a lower inclination to swarm. They are willing to enter supers and are excellent comb builders. These queens are bred by our Romainian breeders, they are naturally mated and come marked in cages with attendant workers.
