HIVES & HIVE PARTS
Our hives are made from top grade Canadian Cedar. Each piece of wood is precision cut to ensure they fit together with ease. All our varroa mesh floors come fully assembled as standard.
We have kept to tradition with selling cedar hives. Cedar has natural oils so no preservatives are needed on the hives, over time they will turn a beautiful silver grey colour and will withstand the hardest of British weathers for many years. If you wish to paint your hive you can still do so but ensure you use a paint that is bee friendly.
The modern iteration of hives use polystyrene to create a well insulated and lightweight piece of equipment.
