Delivery & Returns
Orders are best placed through our online shop, but you can place orders over the telephone however please bear in mind we are a small team so if you get the answer phone please do leave a message and we will call you back.
There are a number of ways to pay for goods, Credit Card, Debit Card, Bacs transfer.
General Stock Orders (not live bees)
Goods are dispatched once payment has cleared. We endeavour to dispatch orders received before 11am on the same day however during the beekeeping season your orders may not be dispatched until the following day. You will receive, via email, confirmation once the order is placed, confirmation when we are processing your order and confirmation when you order is on its way or ready for collection.
We use Royal Mail and FedEx for deliveries of stock items (not live bees). You will receive and email or text you with an estimated day and time of delivery for FedEx parcels, you an instruct them to leave your parcel in a safe place. Please note that any orders left without a signature, as per your instructions, are your responsibility. Small and light orders will be posted with Royal Mail using their tracked 48 service, you will receive tracking information by either text message or email so you can track your order.
Pallet orders, which must be placed by email or telephone and usually take between 2 and 3 days once payment is received. Payment for pallet orders is by bank transfer only. Please note that boxes of glass jars are collection only, unless you are ordering a pallet full.
Orders that include Live Queen Bees and general stock items are processed and sent out separately with one exception, mated queens that are ordered with queen introduction cages will be sent out together. If you are ordering any other general stock and mated queens please process the orders separately, if you don't order them separately you will not get an option to chose the carriage for your stock order. In this instance we will contact you separately to take the payment for the carriage for the stock items.
For all general stock orders please select "General stock orders" as the delivery option. The delivery options for mated queens are shown separately and these are for mated queen order only, if you select a mated queen delivery option for a general stock order you will be contacted to make the correct carriage charge for your order.
If your postcode does not offer you a delivery option please call or email firstname.lastname@example.org quoting your postcode and what you would like to order and we will email you back a quote for the delivery costs. If you put the order through our on-line shop and your postcode falls into one of those listed below the order may attract additional carriage costs. In come cases we may be use an alternative carrier like Hermes that will fall in to the carriage paid, we will also try for the cheapest option for you. Small orders under 2kg are sent with royal mail and do not attract additional carriage.

Orders for Live Bees - Important Information
Queen Orders - We will notify you via email of the day we dispatch your queen, this will not necessarily be the day you order as our queens are generally not ready to go out until mid week. Ordersl go out wtih Royal Mail by Tracked 24, these do not require a signature and can be posted through your letter box or by Guaraneed Next Day delivery, this service you will need to sign for.
Our Queen Guaranteed next delivery is a service that guarantees that Royal Mail will delivery to you the day after we post your order. It does not mean that your queen will be dispatched from us the day you place your order to arrive with you the following day.
In the very rare event that you queen should arrive with you and she is dead we will replace her but only providing we are contacted immediately, either by email or telephone on the day you received it. You may be asked to return it to us, no replacement will be sent if the cage or queen has been tampered with. We will replace a dead queen once only, we do not offer any refunds on dead queens.

Nucs of bees - The prices shown on the Internet for Nucs of "live bees" does NOT include any carriage costs. We encourage you to collect your nucs of bees from us however if you are too far away to travel and you chose to have your bees delivered we can organise this for you at an additional cost of around £35 using Royal Mail Special Delivery. Their service guarantees delivery the next day before 1pm. We have been using Royal Mail Special for many years and we continue to use them for their rapid delivery service and good handling which all means less stress and travelling time for the bees however we do encourage you to collect your nucs of bees from us rather than having them posted. We can accommodate collection by a third party organised by you as well.
