Mated Buckfast Queen
Our Buckfast Queens are bred from the best quality mating stock, our lines come from various breeders Heike Aumeier, Vadim Gosek, Bernd Brix, Andre Kopelin, Tom Wagner and Andreas Peter. These queens produce bees that a joy to handle. The Buckfast has a gentleness to them with a high resistance to diseases as well as having a lower swaming instinct. Colours of F1 buckfast queens can vary from very light to stripy to very dark. Buckfast bees are generally not big producers of propolis.
The buckfast as a boundless capacity for foraging and build up rapidly in the spring. They maintain a strong colony during the summer and their gentle manner allows the beekeeper to work with minimal use of smoke even opening the hive in bad weather.
Swarming is one of the biggest challenges we face as beekeepers. Even with a high quality buckfast queen like this, with a very low swarming instinct, it would be a mistake to assume that they won't swarm. Swarming is natural reproduction and there simply isn't a honeybee with no swarming instinct at all. These mated F1 queens are bred by our Romainian breeders, they are naturally open mated and come come marked in cages with attendant workers.

Select the week you require the queens posted and then select the day you would like them posted. Whilst we will do our best to send the queens the week you request, there may be times when, due to poor weather, that we have a delay your order or advise that we may have to post on a different day to the one you have requested.
Dispatch of your order will be notified by email so you know your order is on it way to you.

NOTE - Guaranteed next day means you will get your queen the day after we post, not the day after you order it. It is also a service you need to sign for or the post man will take it back to the depot. If you cannot be home to sign for your order please select Tracked 24 as your delivery option as this will be posted through your letter box.

A queen that is found dead on arrival will only be replaced if we are contacted immediately on the day you receive it, either by email or telephone. We may request you return it to us, replacement will not be made if the cage as been opened or tampered with. We will replace a dead queen once only, no refunds will be offered.
